Veronim stood watching over the dens he had grown up in. He had waited so long to take control, it was a shame he only had a few wolves to lead. However, that didn't trouble him. He knew that in time the pack would grow and they'd be able to have everything they desired. He may have seemed cruel but he looked out for those who trusted him. After all, they were the ones he relied on. Without a pack full of loyal, trusting wolves, he'd have nothing, no one to turn to. There was one place where he could relax but if he stayed there he'd always fret that his brothers would turn up one day; they knew how to get there.
He readied himself. He wanted to gather everyone - to make sure everyone was fine. This was the time for any complaints, any requests, any opinions to be heard. This was the only time he'd let anyone tell him anything he may not have wanted to hear without attacking them. If anyone decided to wait until later then he'd make sure to put them in their place, and they all knew it. This was the first time in ages that he'd be holding this meeting and no one knew when the next time would be, not even Veronim himself. He just hoped no one would bug him about it.
The dark wolf shook his pelt clean of dust before clearing out his throat. He needed his voice to be clear, powerful. He needed to make sure everyone in the territory could hear him. When he was ready, he let out a howl. It echoed against the dens as it pierced the air. It was an invitation to those who were in the pack and a warning to those who weren't. The sun was setting and the night sky was closing in. This was a peaceful time for the pack, it wouldn't be tolerated if anyone brought chaos. They would be severely punished.
